In the previous sermon, I suggested a number of things that may keep us from “going” and living the teachings of Jesus. But if there is one thing that will hinder us more than any other it is having “heart”. When I checked the internet and asked the question, “What does it mean to have heart?”, it brought me to ask.com where someone else had asked that question. One of the people that responded made this statement, “Having heart means that you do not give up in the face of adversity – that you do things larger than you are.” That explanation fits Jesus to a t. No matter how much adversity He faced, it never kept Him from doing what needed to be done. And as disciples of Christ, if we are to accomplish the work of the Father, we too must have the heart of Jesus.
